The usual signs of gestational diabetes are continuous bouts of unquenchable thirst, increased urination, blurred vision and rapid weight gain. Most of these gestational diabetes symptoms can easily be confused for normal symptoms of pregnancy, so it’s important that you request a gestational diabetes test from your doctor when you enter your 3rd trimester. If any of the symptoms mentioned above occur earlier (as in the first or second trimester) please consult your doctor right away!

I am so glad you asked this question. I have started my 3rd trimester and I sometimes wonder if I'm gonna make it through the day. Some days I get up and I don't finally "wake up" until several hours later. I just can't see to get going some days. I had a blackout "spell" a couple of weeks ago that sent me to the hospital for observation. I was feeling extremely fatigued a day or two afterwards so I called my OB. She said it is normal. She advised that I rest as much as I could when I was feeling tired. I'm so glad hubby is understanding. Some nights I'm totally knocked out by 9pm. I can't stay up any later than 10pm and usually I'm a night owl. I usually can't wait for Saturdays and Sundays when I can sleep in!!!
Good luck and good resting throughout the remainder of your pregnancy!!!!

Showing glucose in your urine can be a sign of gestational diabetes but not always.
Yes, dizziness because I wasn't eating every couple of hrs or I wasn't eating the right foods, and thirst.
well have you developed it in the past? chances are if you have in the past it might be a concern with this pregnancy. the key to make sure yout gaining the proper amount of weight in this pregnancy. if you are at a normal weight you should gain 25-35 lbs. if you are overweight do not gain more than 15lbs. also the higher the birth weight of the baby could lead to you having gestational diabetes. i would get prenatal care from an OBGYN and make sure your taking prenatal vitamines.
With diabetes, you will be going every hour or so even threw the night, and no matter how much water you drink, you will still be thirsty. And other symptom are extremely dry skin, dry brittle nails, and weight loss with no reason for it early on, along with an increase in appetite, headache, and vision changes. I had gestational diabetes with my last 3, but I also have a high family history for diabetes. The chances of getting gestational diabetes goes up if your over weight, have a family history of diabetes, are over 30.
I know how you feel…I miscarried once before having a perfectly uneventful pregnancy and giving birth to my healthy little girl. Now, I'm no doctor, but I've done alot of reading on this stuff and from what I know the first trimester is the most crucial time for miscarriage, and you've just about survived it, yay! Problems can occur at any time, of course, but the best you can do for your baby is take care of yourself and try not to worry too much, which was the hardest thing for me since I worry about everything, lol. I also picked up somewhere that morning sickness can be sort of a sign of a healthy baby…that it's a good thing to feel crappy all the time, hehe. Good luck with everything and I wish you the best…a healthy baby like mine! lol
