A Diabetic Diet is actually a healthy diet, but distributed in a way to allow your body to process nutrients more efficiently. Diabetics are not necessarily barred from particular food products, but must integrate them in their dietary schedule. Diabetes educators work to assist individual diabetics to work their favourite foods into a diet for them. Much of this is focused on portions, eating smaller meals over longer periods of time and maintaining glucose counts.

Just add raw food in his daily diet.Instead of cooking the vegetable, just grate it and only do the topping or mix it with salt and pepper.Sprouts are very good for losing weight without any harm.
Let him have carbo rich food in morning, only salads and raw vegetables for lunch and porridge for the dinner. This diet will definitely help him to reduce weight effortlessly.Cut down all white flour from his diet.Let him take small meals every 2 or 3 hours.Mostly let him concentrate on fresh foods. He can take different fruit each day.He has to repeat the fruit only after 10 days.
He has to go for walking for atleast 40 mts daily.Yoga helps his diabetic and blood pressure under control. So let him do yoga daily like pranayama, breathing exercises and kriyas.

Well, for starters, you should help others around you in the same situation by complaining about the food to an apporopriate authority, and get the problem fixed. As for weight loss, it's mainly about lifestyle, but there are a few things you can do to help yourself. Go for a short walk whenever you can, and do little things to help you do so. For example, if you drive or take public transport somewhere, park or stop a few streets or blocks away from where you where intending to go, and walk the remaining distance. Don't try and eat less: Just eat healthier. If you can't access any good food at the college itself, try going to a greengrocers or supermarket and purchasing some fruit and vegetables: They're both cheap and healthy. If you can't store them, or if you can't go back for a while, get tinned fruit instead, such as sliced pinapple. Good luck.

Diet Guidelines

One diabetic strategy is to consume very small low-carbohydrate meals about every 2 hours, with perhaps a sugar-free jello or pudding snack in between. Calculate approximate daily calorie consumption for weight loss objectives.

Wal-Mart sells a 16-ounce bag of World Kitchens beef jerky for around $9.00 . . cut up and weigh 1-ounce portions. Jennie-O turkey franks (cut up and boil to reduce fat and sodium). String cheese sticks. 1-ounce portions of peanuts. Sam’s caffeine-free diet cola has zero carbs, calories, and sodium.

Blend sugar-free pudding powder with water and low-carb (around 4 grams) vanilla yogurt instead of milk for 1/2 cup servings. For a sugar-free slushy, blend 1/2 cup vanilla pudding with around 1-1/4 cup A&W diet root beer and 6 ice cubes.

Prepare 1/2 cup portions of sugar-free jello in 1-cup containers. If desired, sugar-free vanilla pudding can be added before chilling.

Sugar-free chocolate pudding makes good fudge pops.

Make sandwich rolls and small pizzas using low-carb tortillas.

Wal-Mart sells round screw-together containers in the craft bead section which are suitable for take-along beef jerky and peanut 1-ounce portions. The large size measures approximately 2.50” inside diameter by .75” deep, and costs around $2.00 per assembly of 4 containers.

Might also consider taking a daily multi-vitamin, and a 81mg aspirin (if not adverse).
